'Zine Lookbook'
Digital print on tracing paper
My miniature zine look book explores aesthetics of costume and fashion and captures a sculptural aspect to the clothes that we may wear. My practice allows for me to open up the intersections of printmaking me and allows for me to explore the way in which print is related to other art practices.
I chose to mimic the aesthetics of a real fashion magazine, which I think is nicely obscured when presented as such a small, takeable zine. There are themes of femininity in the work in which it explores how the body interacts with the clothes that we are wearing. Are we wearing the clothes, or are the clothes wearing us?
The nature of a free, takeable zine is quite opposite to the fashion industry titans who continue to exploit for money, so I think having my work as a small zine for the public to take fights those intentions and can help change the fashion industry
