Around The Table
Born from a journey of resilience, Around The Table'' carries the weight of both Persian history and personal survival. Saideh, an artist whose creations were once destroyed by political conflict in Iran, now sculpts anew in Melbourne, forging a path of renewal and strength. This piece, crafted from white and black Rocko clays through wheel throwing and hand-building techniques, is fired at 1200 degrees and glazed with a clear finish inside.
It embodies more than just material—it signifies a return to art, to voice, and to life. Inspired by the natural colors of ancient Persia, the artwork captures the magical, earthy beauty of the land, weaving together the deep-rooted stories of Persian culture. Every curve and motif whispers the resilience of both the culture and the artist herself.
Through this work, Saideh breathes life into the clay, shaping not only an artwork but a profound statement of reclaiming the past and forging the future. The strength of the land and its history intertwine with the artist's own journey, etched into the very fabric of this creation.
