Pure love
2024
digital print zine
This work explores the experience of love, focusing on the duality of deep infatuation and emotional connection. I aimed to convey purity through my words while juxtaposing melancholic imagery. This piece plays with a visual oxymoron; love is rarely associated with the colour blue, which is typically linked to sadness. By choosing blue, I highlight the complexity of love as both the purest of emotions and an experience that can be simultaneously painful and beautiful. The ocean serves as a fitting metaphor: it is serene and awe-inspiring, yet it also has the capacity for destruction—mirroring the multifaceted nature of love itself. I used my own experiences as imagery, as I can only truly understand how I experience love. Using someone else’s perspective would not fully capture the depth of my feelings.
