Inkjet Printed Zine
Emma draws creative inspiration from Australia’s natural environment and wildlife, with a particular interest in the Merri creek, the Victorian Coastline and natural park spaces in Melbourne city. Her artwork features cycles of regeneration and naturally occurring patterns and mark making in nature. Her work explores various printmaking mediums and techniques, with a preference for intaglio etching, lino/woodblock carving and monoprint. This work is a zine featuring her own photography, this work ties in with the exhibition theme of “Hot off the press” as it is a new work and explores printmaking themes through the zine form. The evolution of the zine comes from creating accessible art that can be printed in large quantities for a broad audience. This work aims to bring some calming imagery of the ocean along the Victorian coast to the students in Melbourne who visit the library, often for study. The summer nostalgia imagery may be a nice reminder that warmer weather is coming.
