Dew and Ripple is a sculptural meditation on the condensation and spread of knowledge. Composed of steel wire, encased book pages, thread, yarn and linen, the work forms a delicate water droplet suspended in motion, symbolizing the moment when thought, like water, condenses into a tangible form. The ripple that follows speaks to the spread of understanding, the way a single idea or piece of wisdom can echo outward, creating broader waves of influence.
The process of creating this piece mirrors the development of knowledge itself: the sewing of linen and threading around the wire structure represents the careful stitching together of ideas, layer by layer, to form something whole. Placed in a library, “Dew and Ripple” invites viewers to reflect on how knowledge is collected, distilled, and spread, much like the drop in still water that creates endless ripples.
