Etching on rag paper
In my practice, I make it as my goal to create art that would allow me to be open about myself on a personal level. Heavily inspired by discovering and learning about mental health as a teenager, I focus on themes and ideas on mental health, emotions, and personal identity – more specifically how I see myself as a human being. My practice reflects on experiences that have impacted my personal growth in life and have shaped me into a different person.
When it comes to my art style, I have a passion on implementing symbolism, colourpsychology/theory, and occasionally feature original characters (OC's) that I've created in support of communicating themes of identity and which also connect with my self-psychology and feelings that I've experienced. By including my own characters into my art, not only they are to symbolise different ideas, but also makes me feel like I'm inserting a piece of myself into my art and helps me gain more of a connection to what I love doing.
